Description + Story

Madhav Pandey finished his Masters in Public Health in Nepal and could not find a job. Instead of leaving the country, he decided to invest in his village. He started Colours Handicraft together with his wife to employ the women in his village. He runs the factory and she runs a little shop they have in the tourist section of Kathmandu.

Felt is the oldest known textile in the world. Extremely durable and water-resistant, it was once used for clothing and shelter. Nepal boasts some of the finest felt artisans in the world. We love partnering with Colours -- their energy is contagious and their commitment to local employment, particularly at-risk women is a model MULXIPLY's mission aligns with.

We melted a little when we met these furry friends. Beautifully hand-crafted by a village of artisans in the foothills of the Himalayas, each one is uniquely stitched with natural wool. A thoughtful gift for anyone, yourself included.

  • Hand-felted, stuffed giraffe made with raw and natural-dyed wool
  • Hand-finished with cotton stitching
  • Approximately 12 inches tall and 11 inches long
  • This item is handmade, please allow for variations in finishing.
